I have often stated on threads that the WBTS hates children and I always asked why they didn't provide any type of activities for children. I drove by a church the other day that had a huge beautiful play ground behind it for kids and thought to myself, yeah, that would be the freaking day you would ever see that at a KH.

Why don't Jehovah's Witneses offer childrens activities?
by Dragonlady76 ini have always wondered why the jw's don't have a playroom/area or offer kids activities during the meetings.
i would imagine it's been brought to the societys attention at some point.
it just makes so much sense to offer a place where kids and go and play, where they can be read to, have them sing, color pages on bible related stories etc..... .

"Tear Down the Watchtower Day!"
by 144001 inafter surviving what has been a rather depressing week, an idea suddenly came to me.
after being born and raised in the loathsome cult that is the watchtower, i was deprived of many things, including without limitation all holidays and the accompanying joy that goes with them.
as an adult, i've been celebrating all the traditional "worldly" holidays, but although i enjoy and appreciate them, i've noticed that there's something missing.

I'll second the motion to make March 4th tear down the Watchtower Day.

this tormented me as a witness.

I just checked google and according to Conan the Barbarian happiness is, "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!"

noah's ark
by kittyeatzjdubs ini watched a tv show last night on tlc.
it was talking about noah's ark and all that stuff.
the thing that stuck out in my mind and made me laugh out loud was this....they interviewed many scientist and they all said the same thing, ''there is no natural evidence that a wordly flood ever took place.''.

I have never liked the whole flood story, even as a kid it bothered me. I am always sort of aghast when I see children with those little toy arks with the animals and I'm thinking, do they really understand what is going on here (of course not) with these toys they are playing with? That except for the (shit I can't remember) 6? little weebles every other man, woman, and child died a hideous death by drowning? I always wonder what parents are thinking when they give them that toy.

Death of innocent people
by Norm inagain we have been witnessing a hideous, horrible act of terrorism where cowards and maniacs have blown up innocent people.
it is thoroughly distressing and revolting.
being a bit cynical about it this it is in all probability a payback to britain for blairs staunch support to george bush.

The criminal justice system is not just, but it certainly is criminal the joke goes. Its as flawed as everything else we humans have constructed but it is better than the chaos and anarchy that would rule without it. What if the story had read, granny mistakenly shoots wrong guys because of mis-iding them. The old saw goes we would rather have 100 guilty go free rather than convict one innocent person, it all seems very academic until you are in the defendent's chair and you didn't do it.
I am not a promoter of gun control, I agree with Hillbilly, if law abiding citizens, especially women were armed then justice could be possibly dispensed at the time of the act, not after the fact. In my state attempted rape is lawful cause for a woman to use deadly force to protect herself, that's when the shooting should take place if it is going to take place.

Its hard not to like this sort of justice but you have to let the system work, flawed as it is its the one we have.

HS, you have my undivided attention, could you give a little more detail as to how the outdating of those groups was actually accomplished?

The first time I've been "down" b/c of JWD...
by upside/down ini've had good and bad days since stumbing onto jwd... and i've learned more in my short time here than in the last 20 years as an "active" and true to the bone...dub.... but today (tonight) i'm really sad... the tone of almost every thread i read has gotten "ugly".... i love "spirited" discussion, but this is different.
it feels like forum anarchy.. is there no yielding anymore...?.
maybe it was just too much happened today... or solar flares or something... i don't know...don't care.... maybe my new found "love" for my country (not the blind patriotic crap) and life coupled with the obvious animosity toward this love by some...well just bums me out.

Hillary, you'd really laugh at my comments if you knew what I did for a living, and yes I know I was being a bit idealistic with my wishings. I think that too many people confuse passion with anger when they debate. I have seen some very intense passionate debates that were also very civil. I guess I just hate to see people being mauled when I don't think its neccessary, but sounds like I am in the minority so have at it.
